Before going to Sofia, my conception of it was charcoal grey with a scarlet red tint. After spending 16 hours here, it’s leaning towards ash gray with a specific bright blue veil, a similar color to what Blade Runner feels like, and close to the radiance of a blue scarab at dawn. But also with a hint of metallic blue car paint, the type often used on BMW in the late 90s.

When the letters d,b,q and p enters my brain they are randomly flipped or mirrored before making sense to me. And the same conversion happens when the letters come out again. But this only happens with lowercase letters. 𐐒 would just be weird and foreign. The letter V could mean 5 in Roman numerals. Or L in Greek if you flip it vertically. In Bulgarian there is no V, but you can hear it when the people pronounce the letter B. Here, in България, my B is their Б. Similar to b, so it makes sense. They also have a small version, ъ, but that's pronounced ŭ.

During my days in Bulgaria, imagery keeps unveiling itself for me. And this constant feed presents an al á carte menu I can choose from. Or, most of the time, it feels like a tasting menu. It shifts. Or I might be both. A petit tableau on a window sill. An apparently coincidental composition in today’s newspaper. A series of carefully curated images on a row based on my previous clicks. A glimpse of the random nature of reality when looking up from my phone. Or a word.
