A building leaned over me the other day. I bent its clean thumb folding rigid shapes to signal human gasp. I pressed my flesh against its concrete wall as I passed by - a nonreciprocating anomaly full of needles and hidden agendas. A hundred meters away, my feet felt lighter. A moment was gone. I couldn't return and repeat the encounter, should I? The ability to float eventlessly made (dis)comfort no longer a valid emotion or a portal of need. Becoming a servant, framed and dictated by architectural tole, material anchoring, ideological affiliation, and structural satisfaction, the daunting feeling of overidentification eclipsed my initial leap to shape presence. A few decades later, I had to redeem the possibility of my unconditional vibe. I returned. Same building. Same thumb. Same lane. -Lars Nordby
Christine Dahlerup is a Copenhagen-based artist. In her work with sculpture, photography and installation Dahlerup tests the ‘weightiness’ of artistic authorship and examines the properties of image and vision, exploring how mediated reality intersects with subjective experience. Dahlerup obtained an MFA from the class of Simon Dybbroe Møller at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2024 and a diploma with professor Nora Schultz at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2026. She has previously exhibited at FELIX GAUDLITZ, Vienna, Galleri Susanne Ottesen, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Aga Basement and Saaalt in Copenhagen and Meduza in Vilnius. In 2026 Dahlerup was awarded the Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Talent Prize. Helene Due, DK, works in a cross-field of installation, painting, assemblage, and music. Combining painting with found and modified objects, Helene Due questions the stability of the material world and our place within it. Due’s practice juxtaposes the everyday with the metaphysically bizarre through subtle fabulations - asking for more than reality can account for. Due holds an MFA from the class of Ferdinand Ahm Krag, The School of Painting, at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2023. She has exhibited at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and Jennifee-See Alternate, Copenhagen and June Art Fair, Basel. In collaboration with composer Clarissa Connelly, Due has performed at Bourse de Commerce, Paris, Simian, Copenhagen, with an upcoming performance at La Biennale di Venezia in October 2026.
The exhibition is supported by The Danish Arts Foundation. Many thanks to Tequila Bar for serving free drinks at the exhibition opening.
