„I have given you a part of my environment directly. Wasn’t that nice of me?

She is laughing.

I actually wanted to seduce you to do a stubborn literary thing.

She is laughing again.

Where you only have the face at your disposal. And then it's all about text...“

Excerpt from an Interview with the German poet Elke Erb (translated)

Question to Daniel K. D. Schmid (a friend, a physicist, an artist, a writer...)

Beginning started + some weeks of letting time pass + with a little distance to our last correspondence... Do you, as a person who writes formulas and thinks about them, believe that they show comprehensibly every day? I mean, isn't there also a kind of daily form? (Something like a misstrike in the afternoon...)?

Do you understand me? A bit?

In English? With a little distance. Right now I think: They show. As a model. Reflecting something, like words do. We can feel them! Maybe: In a way we feel a word, when we can’t think of the word. It’s not a common language. Internet says Von Neumann said: There is a primary language, the one our nervous system speaks. We can not speak the language. And there are secondary languages, the ones we perceive and discuss. Right now. And so we can make statements about the language: In words and in formulas but We are not talking scientifically about science. We are not talking scientifically about poetry. We can talk poetically about science. We can talk poetically about poetry. We can think of a circle. Let’s call the thought of a circle "a circle." Right now I think: A circle can be translated into a formula. Or into words. Or into other things. Into an image. I think of a yellow circle right now. It is slightly hidden which feels good. But it’s always different with a little distance.
